Your favorite author is in the process of transferring a couple of domain names to namecheap.com, his domain name registrar of choice for a couple of years.
Imagine the surprised look on his face when he tried to log-out of his old registrar’s domain control panel and he was hit with this:
Our site is currently undergoing an unscheduled maintenance to upgrade our systems in order to better serve you.
Think of the look on the face of a guy who’s just discovered The Walking Dead Episode 6 is never gonna be on TV to watch because the show has been axed and you might get an idea of the horror your author felt.
Worried he might have been phished, he went straight to the eNom website to check:
Scheduled Maintenance
Our site is currently undergoing a scheduled maintenance to upgrade our systems in order to better serve you.
The maintenance is scheduled to start Saturday, November 10th at 8pm and last for 4 hours. During this time, our website and API services will be down for the first 2 hours and have intermittent connectivity loss for the remaining 2 hours.
Notice the change in status? Unscheduled to Scheduled?
Which is it eNom? Has the domain name system broken down? Has eNom been hacked? Are Anonymous involved? Are our domains safe!!!?
Unscheduled or scheduled, make your mind up eNom. We can’t register, transfer or update domains until you come back online. We would love to know our domains are safe.
eNom, Please let us know the answers to the above questions as soon as possible.
Dear reader, we would love to hear from you if you have any further information on the eNom outage.
