Taken from a compilation of over 1,000 ping sites whittled down to 108 live ping sites after duplicates and dead ping sites were removed, here’s your 2012 list of genuine, current and live search engine, RSS directory, RSS aggregation and ping syndication sites. All ping site types are separated into lists ready for you to pick and mix them according to your needs and desires.
Listed as WordPress Ping List 21012, there’s something here for any site, blog or not.
Last Updated Jan 10th, 2012. All checked. All valid. 108 sites to ping. We now have 60 search engines, 41 RSS syndicators and 7 ping syndicatorsin our pinglist.
What is a ping list?
Search engines, directories and RSS syndicators like to be told when a website has been updated. Pinging is like screaming, shouting, huffing and puffing until those lazy search engines and RSS directories come running to feast on your latest exposé.
By screaming and kicking through its pinglist, your site will be visited by search engines and indexed more quickly that it otherwise would. This ensures your content is found by surfers quickly and it ensures your site is credited as being the originator of your hard work.
WordPress users should put the URLs in this ping list into the “Writing” section of their backend settings. The writing section is located in Dashboard > Settings > Writing.
I recommend WordPress users install the cbnet Ping Optimzer plugin from GitHub. It monitors ping results and prevents the excessive pinging which can lead to a site being blacklisted. Update the cbnet pinglist via Dashboard > Settings > Writing.
This Ping List’s History
I was bored, needed something to do and thought I’d scour the Net for every ping list I could find. Then check them for duplicates and life.
The original list had over 1000 URLs. With dupes removed I was left with 231 ping sites which I placed into my WordPress ping list ready to test for life.
I use the CBNet Ping Optimizer plugin for WordPress which logs the return messages from sites pinged. 70 pinged successfully. 53 of those successes were to various Google blog search engines and 17 were to other sites. That left 161 URLs for me to manually load in my browser, check for life.
It was a long task but I eventually visited every site in the pinglist that gave an error message. I sifted out the dead sites and corrected the URLs of the remaining live ping sites.
A few updates later, and year since I first made this list and we have the 2012 pinglist.
Additional Information
With the exception of Yahoo Japan, there’s only one way to periodically ping Bing, Ask and Yahoo. You have to submit your sitemap to them after every new post. I explain more about this after the ping list.

Registration is required before some sites can be pinged
Two from the mainstream list:

Bing, Ask and Yahoo!
Bing, Ask and Yahoo do not accept direct pings. They rely on regular sitemap submissions.
Submitting your sitemap to them is easy if you use WordPress. Just install the Better WordPress Google XML Sitemaps plugin. Works with multi-sites too.
If you don’t use WordPress, replace the text “[http://example.com/sitemap.xml]” with the full address to your sitemap in the following URLs.
Bing
http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap=[http://example.com/sitemap.xml]
Ask
http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=[http://example.com/sitemap.xml]
Yahoo!
Requires Yahoo! API ID (click here to get one).
http://search.yahooapis.com/SiteExplorerService/V1/updateNotification?appid=[YOUR YAHOO API ID]&url=[http://example.com/sitemap.xml]
Examples:
Bing (non-gzipped sitemap):
http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap=http://example.com/sitemap.xml
Yahoo (gzipped sitemap):
http://search.yahooapis.com/SiteExplorerService/V1/updateNotification?appid=whatever-your-yahoo-api-id-is&url=http://example.com/sitemap.xml.gz
Registering Your Yahoo! API ID
It looks more difficult than it is. All you need to do is this:
- click here to get one
- register or sign in to Yahoo
- select “Generic” as the “authentication method”
- fill out the fields:
- Developer/Company Name
- Product Name
- Contact Email
- Description of Application
- click “Continue”
- Make a note of your long API ID
There is no need to bother with any other field.
More Pings
A list of sites that let you send pings in bulk is available at journalxtra.com/tools/ping.php.
If you need to bulk ping lots of URLs together then you might try bulkping.com which purports to use over 2,500 proxies to ping to 25 search engines.
Please remember not to ping excessively. Excessive pinging will cause your domain pings to be temporarily blocked.
Sites Removed From the Original Ping List
These may be put back into the list if they again become functional.

Nice article … by the way im John … Owner of BulkPing.com and thanks for posting http://www.BulkPing.com there … also please email me list of adult ping sites i’ll add them to BulkPing.com … and also will add ur more ping sites in my sites list …
Thanks for visiting, John. I’ve integrated the adult list into the post. There are 17 adult sites. 12 require registration before they can be successfully pinged; I’ve stated which ones in the post.
The adult ping sites are quite interesting. I actually already own a few hentai blogs and didn’t even realize there were adult ping services. Anyways, thanks a lot for this. Super useful. Have subscribed because of this post.
Bear in mind that it can take a while for some of the adult sites to review applications to ping your RSS entries to them.
Thanks Tony :-)
very nice piece of knowledge. I really loved the lists
Sara, You’re welcome :)
Thanks

Bill
It doesn’t. The list you’ve referenced contains a lot of defunct ping services. It looks like it hasn’t been checked. The sites shown in my list have all been checked for service. It took a long time to do it too.
its very usefull list, thanks bro, i’ll use for my plugin in wordpress engine
For feedburner not sure that http://ping.feedburner.com really works. I had a strange delay of several days and on their blog they suggest to go to the url http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/ping
Thank you, Axel, I will look into this.
Thanks for the list! I will be using it for my site http://www.bestwaytogetabsfast.com. Was looking for a list and thanks to you I got it.
thank you so much! :)
thanks for the detailed list
You are welcome :)
Thank you for this big liste. I will use them for my old and new blogs :)
to delete, error.
i want to know ping timing . i mean . how many time after i can send ping… no body wants to spam on google.
I really don’t know. Different search engines and feed aggregators have different allowances. I would play safe and only ping when content is created or updated. There is no point to pinging the same content continuously.
