Shhhh!!!! WordPress, Don’t Shout About your Break-in Then

WordPress Security Breech

Just in case you missed it, because I did, WordPress.org had a security breech this week. Several plugins were updated by a hacker (or hackers) who installed backdoor exploits into AddThis, WPTouch and W3 Total Cache that may have compromised self-hosted WordPress websites. The official statement posted by Matt Mullenweg (founding developer of WordPress) at wordpress.org on the 21st July, explains: "Earlier today the WordPress team noticed suspicious commits to several popular plugins (AddThis, WPtouch, and W3 Total Cache) containing cleverly disguised backdoors. We determined the commits … [Read more...]

Zynga Suspends FarmVille Gift Sending

Zynga suspended gift sending from the FarmVille market place today. It comes as no surprise given that the past few days have been awash with farmers taking advantage of a glitch in the game that enabled them to spend FV cash over and over again to repeatedly send market gifts to their neighbors. News Update from JournalXtra – January

January Calendar Image

The first proper news update of the year. January has been a busy month for me not just with JournalXtra but also with the other sites on my network. I own and manage quite a large number of websites which lagged a little bit last year due to the work I put into JournalXtra. Getting a little annoyed, I decided to stand in front of a mirror and have a good talk with myself about how I should proceed this year. I can tell you that it was a funny site to watch me waving fists at myself as I argued the pros and cons of different management styles.
